School Operations Manager
Full Time, 12 month
Summary:
The School Operations Director performs administrative and supervisory work in the non-academic operations of the school. This includes overseeing information technology, transportation, facilities and custodial management, and food services programs. This position works closely with the financial management of these programs and works to ensure the operational success of the organization, ensure contractual and regulatory requirements are met, and that resources are managed effectively. Works to create a school culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, teamwork and high performance.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
Must be ethical and honest. Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, follow-through, and communication skills. Must be extremely flexible and able to work independently.
Must be knowledgeable and comfortable working with technology and software programs, including MS Excel and Word, Google Suite and other electronic communication systems and be able to acquire additional skills for use of software, databases or other information systems as necessary.
Must be able to meet professional obligations through effective work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others. Must be able to successfully analyze information, manage complexity, report results, enter data, and observe school and state policies as well as state and federal laws with attention to detail, confidentiality, and thoroughness. Must accept responsibility and be self-motivated. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality with regard to employees, students and parents and work effectively with school staff, district personnel, and the general public.
Desired competencies include self-motivation; enthusiasm; collaboration; high work standards; critical thinking; creativity; flexibility; and initiative.

- Minimum 5 years of professional experience or relevant occupational experience in business and industry in one of the departments supervised, with school-based experience in operations preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Associates Degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Must have strong project management skills to lead projects to successful completion.
- Must have effective and efficient organizational skills.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving skills in tackling organizational problems.
- Excellent team player, with willingness to be hands-on and support as needed.
- Valid driver license, satisfactory traffic abstract, daily access to a registered and insured vehicle.
