Hawaii Academy of Arts and Science PCS seeks for individuals for the following opportunities for the school year:
Assistant Coach, Paddling
Grades 9-12
Summary:
Supports Head Coach to plan, organize and implement appropriate Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) Sport activities with HAAS students. Transports students in HAAS vehicles as needed.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
Prior relevant coaching and/or sport experience.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn rules and regulations sport and as it pertains to Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF).
Experience managing, mentoring and directing students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Ability to drive a 15-passenger van.
Valid driver license, satisfactory traffic abstract, daily access to a registered and insured vehicle.
Valid CPR and First Aid training.
Desirable qualifications include ability to understand student's backgrounds and interests; project enthusiasm; display vitality, sympathy, humor, and firmness; motivate students in a positive manner; communicate and inter-relate with students, faculty, administration and community.
Must be ethical and honest. Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, follow-through, and oral and written communication skills. Must be extremely flexible and able to work independently.
Must be able to meet professional obligations through effective work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others. Must be able to successfully analyze information, manage complexity, report results, enter data, and observe school and state policies as well as state and federal laws with attention to detail, confidentiality, and thoroughness. Must accept responsibility and be self-motivated. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality with regard to employees, students and parents and work effectively with school staff, district personnel, and the general public.

Compensation: $500 one-time payment upon completion of the sport.
