This role partners closely with the Executive Director and the Member Services and Engagement Manager to design and deliver a dynamic, responsive, and high-quality professional learning portfolio for educators and school leaders across Hawai‘i.

The Director of Programs leads the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of HAIS’ professional learning offerings.
- Lead the design and implementation of diverse professional development programs, events, and conferences tailored to the needs of HAIS member schools.
- Identify and elevate key opportunities for leadership growth among educators and administrators.
- Source and secure dynamic speakers and presenters for programs and events.
- Manage program budgets, timelines, and logistics with strong organizational systems, ensuring alignment with HAIS’ strategic goals.
- Evaluate program effectiveness through data collection and feedback, applying findings to strengthen future offerings.
- Continuously explore innovative approaches to expand the reach and impact of HAIS’ professional learning initiatives.
- Maintain professionalism and open-mindedness in all program planning and partner engagement.

- Assist with event registration.
- Provide on-site and virtual support to ensure a seamless experience for attendees.
- Maintain organized event timelines and proactively troubleshoot issues to support smooth operations.
This role ensures clear, consistent, and engaging communication about HAIS programs and events.
- Develop and implement communication strategies to promote HAIS programs and events.
- Create and disseminate program announcements.
- Write and edit program descriptions, marketing materials, and website content.
- Oversee social media accounts and produce engaging content.
- Ensure the HAIS website is current, user-friendly, and aligned with organizational goals.
- Use data and analytics when possible to refine communication strategies.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and apply new tools and approaches to enhance outreach.
- Establish metrics to assess program impact and ensure alignment with HAIS’ mission.

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Proven experience in program development and event management, preferably in an educational setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Passion for education and commitment to the mission of independent schools.
- Demonstrated professionalism, openness to learning, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Advanced degree in education, non-profit management, or a related field.
- Experience working in or with independent schools.
- Familiarity with graphic design software (e.g., Canva) and communication management systems (e.g., Constant Contact).
- Comfort with technology platforms and enthusiasm for learning new tools and systems.
