What are the responsibilities and job description for the One-on-One Behavior Technician 2026-2027 SY position at Havern School?
One-on-One BT will provide behavioral and instructional support for a student in our K - 5th program with an autism diagnosis or similar behavior challenges. The BT will implement programming and behavior intervention based on the student’s individualized plan created by the student’s classroom teacher and BCBA. The one-on-one RBT will work mainly with one student, but also support all students in the classroom at times.
Responsibilities
- Work 7:45 am -3:45 pm Monday - Friday
- Implement both skill acquisition programming and maladaptive behavior intervention to a student in a K-5th autism classroom and small groups.
- Know the student’s intervention plan and implement behavior responses throughout the day
- Provide support to classroom teachers when student is struggling and needs extra support with academic work
- Provide direction based on behavior intervention plans when new team members come on board
- Collect consistent data on student’s behavior or academic goals
- Regular meetings with BCBA and Classroom teacher to communicate challenges, progress and ideas
- Complete documentation by deadlines including but not limited to data collection, client documentation, etc.
- Create visuals or instructional materials for student at BCBA, or teacher’s, request
- Follow all ASD program and Havern policies
- Maintain a positive attitude and supportive work environment
Qualifications and Competencies
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least 18 years old
- Willingness to complete Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training
- Preferred at least 1 year working as an RBT OR similar position implementing behavior intervention with children 5-10 years old
- Preferred 1 year working in a school setting
- History of excellent attendance
- Stellar written and verbal communication skills
- Professional, excellent with taking feedback and applying it, strong work ethic
- Works well in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to adjust energy level based on the environment

Compensation
$34,000 - $36,000 annual salary
Salary is negotiable based on experience and/or additional qualifications.
