The Role
As an Advanced Maintenance Technician, you will take a lead role in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and general facility repairs within our behavioral health hospital. This position requires a high level of independence, critical thinking, and hands-on technical ability across multiple systems. The ideal candidate is experienced, reliable, and comfortable managing a wide range of maintenance responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Pay Range
Starting at $25 per hour, with flexibility to offer a higher rate for candidates bringing advanced skills, certifications, or experience beyond the baseline requirements.
Essential Duties
- Complete and support preventative maintenance systems with a proactive, detail-oriented approach
- Partner with the Plant Operations Director on complex repairs and facility improvement projects
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs related to plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical systems
- Complete carpentry work, painting, roof maintenance, and general facility upkeep at a high level of quality
- Maintain awareness of changes in rules and regulations affecting department operations
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA and safety standards
- Demonstrate strong reliability, professionalism, and accountability in daily operations
Facility Systems Maintenance
Assist in the maintenance, monitoring, and repair of the following systems:
Inside Environment
- HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Generator system
- Sprinkler system
- Plumbing system
- Elevator system
- Electrical system
- Page system
- Smoke detectors and fire panels
- Pest control system
- Fire alarm system
Outside Environment
- Roof maintenance and leak patching
- Fence repair and replacement
- Patio and outdoor space upkeep
- Exterior lighting inspections and maintenance
- Daily property walkthroughs for trash and debris removal
- Snow and ice removal to maintain safe walkways and entrances
- Parking lot upkeep to ensure accessibility, including for emergency vehicles
Additional Responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain interior finishes including paint, walls, ceilings, and flooring
- Repair or replace damaged materials such as ceiling tiles, wallpaper, and fixtures
- Support upkeep of patient areas, including beds, furniture, lighting, call systems, and bathroom fixtures
- Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment throughout the facility
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience required
- Strong preference for candidates with advanced hands-on experience in multiple trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
- Experience in a healthcare, hospital, or facility setting is highly preferred

Typical shift hours may fall between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm Monday through Friday
