Automotive Technician – Haver’s Auto Repair (Omaha, NE)
$22–$30 per hour - Monday–Friday - Quarterly bonus opportunity

At Haver’s Auto Repair, you will not be thrown into jobs you are not ready for and expected to figure everything out alone. Our technicians help each other. If a repair gets complicated, the team works through it together. If you want to learn a more advanced job, there are experienced people here willing to teach you.

We have been family owned and operated in Omaha since 1957. We have grown to three locations by taking care of our customers, doing honest work, and building teams people want to stay with. The average tenure of our employees is nearly six years, and our goal is to give good technicians a place where they can earn a solid living and continue building their careers.

The technician we are currently looking for can handle brakes, suspension, alignments, maintenance, and most everyday repairs without someone looking over their shoulder. They are not afraid to ask a question when they run into something unfamiliar, and they want to keep improving their diagnostic and repair skills.

The Work

This is a hands-on general repair position working primarily on domestic and Asian family vehicles and daily drivers.

A typical week may include:

• Vehicle inspections and digital inspections
• Brakes, steering, and suspension
• Alignments
• Tire mounting and balancing
• Maintenance services
• Belts, pulleys, sensors, and other external engine repairs
• Cooling system and driveline work with support when needed
• Battery, starting, and charging system testing
• Code retrieval and basic diagnostic procedures

Most of your time will be spent performing mechanical repairs and maintenance. Diagnostics will be part of the job, but we are not expecting you to walk in as an advanced diagnostic technician. We are looking for someone with a strong mechanical foundation who wants to develop those skills.

What We Need From You

You should be able to inspect a vehicle, identify common repair needs, and complete standard repairs with limited help.

Just as importantly, you should be someone who:

• Cares about fixing vehicles correctly the first time
• Keeps working without needing to be constantly managed
• Asks questions instead of guessing
• Accepts help and is willing to help others
• Takes care of the shop, its equipment, and customers’ vehicles
• Wants to become a more capable technician over time

You do not need ASE certifications or decades of experience. If you have the practical ability, work ethic, and willingness to learn, we want to talk with you.

Pay and Schedule

This is an hourly position, not flat rate.

• $22–$30 per hour, based on your experience and current abilities
• Quarterly bonus opportunity based on the shop’s performance
• Pay reviewed annually
• Paid every two weeks
• Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
• Friday, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Approximately 42–45 hours per week
