Position Overview
Hands-on Senior Accounting Analyst role leading daily accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, internal controls, and process improvements. Visible, essential position working directly with leadership and program teams. Ensures accuracy, transparency, and strong financial stewardship across a mission-centered organization.
What You’ll Do
Core Accounting & Daily Operations
- AP/AR, cash management, journal entries, transactional workflows
- Monthly reconciliations across funds and balance sheet accounts
- Month-end close support GL accuracy
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Financial statements, variance analysis, dashboards
- Insights for leadership and program teams
- Budgeting, forecasting, financial planning support
Internal Controls, Systems & Compliance
- GAAP compliance, documentation, audit support
- Internal controls, process integrity, policy adherence
- ERP/financial systems optimization and workflow improvements
Payroll & Staff Support
- Oversee payroll preparation with clerk support
- Ensure accurate, timely biweekly processing
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with program leaders on financial impact
- Translate operational data into financial insight
- Special projects, process improvements, system enhancements
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or CPA-track preferred, but not required
Experience
- Strong preference for candidates with experience at KC consulting/public accounting firms: Deloitte, EY, KPMG, FORVIS, RubinBrown, RSM, Grant Thornton to name a few, but not mandatory
- Experience with ERP or financial systems
- Audit, GL, or financial reporting experience is highly valued

Salary : $59,000 - $85,000
