Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Technician / Caregiver to provide high-quality care to residents in assisted living facility. The ideal candidate will have experience working with seniors, or those requiring specialized memory and dementia care. This role involves administering medications, assisting with daily activities and living, and ensuring the safety and well-being of residents. Duties
- Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and facility protocols
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
- Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or memory impairments
- Support residents during meal times
- Maintain detailed medical documentation using EMR/EHR systems such as ECP
- Observe and report any changes in residents’ health status to nursing staff or supervisors
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure confidentiality of patient records and medical information
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards
Requirements
- Prior experience/certifications in CBRF assisted living preferred, will train the right person
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or elderly is a plus
- Certification as a Medication Technician or similar credential is preferred but not mandatory depending on state regulations
- Ability to work compassionately with seniors
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation and reporting
- Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance and handle sensitive information professionally
- Must be able to lift moderate weights and assist residents with mobility as needed
- Compassionate attitude towards caregiving roles with a focus on patient-centered care
