We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Accountant to oversee the financial health of our multiple firms, ensuring accurate cost tracking, budgeting, and financial reporting from project inception to close-out. This role requires close collaboration with project managers and stakeholders to optimize project profitability and financial compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Accounting: Manage daily financial transactions and track all project-related costs.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in developing project budgets, monitor expenses, forecast cash flow, and analyze variances to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and project-specific reports for management.
Month-End Close: Perform journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes.
Compliance & Auditing: Ensure adherence to accounting standards, company policies, and assist with internal/external audits.
Software & Systems: Proficiency in SAGE CRE 300 and Microsoft Excel REQUIRED.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Accounting experience, with specific experience in construction, three years preferred.
Strong understanding of job cost accounting principles. AIA billing preferred.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
