Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist with product inquiries, offering product demos when appropriate to showcase bakery items.
• Operate the cash register (POS system), handle retail sales transactions accurately, and manage cash drawer handling with attention to detail.
• Upsell bakery products and suggest complementary items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
• Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure the bakery section is clean, attractive, and well-merchandised according to store standards.
• Maintain excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries.
• Conduct product demos to educate customers about new or featured bakery items, fostering engagement and sales.
• Support supervising team members during busy periods, ensuring smooth operations and excellent customer service.

Requirements

• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred; supervisory experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are considered an asset for serving diverse customers.
• Knowledge of POS systems, retail math, and cash register operations is essential for processing transactions efficiently.
• Ability to handle cash handling responsibilities accurately and responsibly.
• Familiarity with merchandising principles and retail store product knowledge to maintain appealing displays.
• Excellent phone etiquette and professional communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Basic math skills for balancing cash drawers and processing sales accurately.
• Enthusiastic about engaging with customers through product demos and upselling techniques to boost sales performance.

Pay: $12.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 18.0 – 25.0 per week
