We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Record/Administrative Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and experience in a medical office setting. This role requires a professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to work efficiently with electronic systems. The Medical Administrative Assistant will be responsible for managing medical records, scheduling appointments, and providing exceptional patient care.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and maintain accurate and confidential medical records, including patient information, test results, and treatment plans
- Utilize electronic systems to schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and communicate with patients and healthcare providers
- Greet patients and visitors, answer phone calls, and respond to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
- Perform administrative tasks, such as preparing and processing documents, and handling correspondence
- Maintain a clean and organized office environment, including the reception area, waiting room, and patient records
- Assist with patient intake and discharge procedures
- Keep abreast of medical office policies and procedures, as well as changes to healthcare regulations
Experience
- 2 years of experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Experience with medical terminology and medical records
- Proficiency in electronic systems, including electronic health records (EHRs) and scheduling software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
