Staff Accountant

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare and examine financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare Payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Collaborate with our other offices to ensure optimal client service.
• Oversee and process payroll for our clients.
• Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with wage laws and regulations.
• Address payroll discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. (Preferred but not required)
• CPA or EA certification (preferred but not required).
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting and/or payroll experience.
• Proficiency in accounting, tax & payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks, Accounting CS, UltraTax CS, Payroll CS, Surepayroll, etc.)
• Experience with payroll processing and compliance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Adaptability to change and learn new programs/skills.
