What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) position at Haven Arizona?
The ideal Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner candidate will have psychiatric nursing experience in acute care, detox, and /or mental health facilities. You must possess strong assessment and organizational skills, be able to prioritize care and communicate with the medical and clinical teams. You must be able to establish a therapeutic relationship with patients and their families, be a good listener, have good observation skills, and have nursing skills sufficient to provide the best care possible.
Shifts: Full Time Monday-Friday 8a-4p
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Holds a current unrestricted license as an ARNP, Licensed Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in the state of facility and maintains current licensure per state requirements.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a chemical dependency/psychiatric setting preferred; preferably in an inpatient, partial hospitalization and/or outpatient setting and/or meets educational requirements.
- Must have a Valid Driver’s License and Auto Insurance.
- Valid and Current CPR
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform varied physical assistance to include bed care & transfers
Job Duties:
- Provides routine psychiatric care under the supervision of the Medical Director/ Director of Nursing
- Thoroughly documents in patient chart, specifically Psychiatric Assessments and Notes, in a detailed and timely manner in accordance with facilities standards.
- Takes verbal orders from the Medical Director, documents them in the patient record and carries them out accurately and professionally.
- Administers medications.
- Work under as directed by Clinical Director / Director of Nursing.
- Maintains effective communication between outside medical services and the facility.
- Be a Team Player.
