Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) specializing in Saturday programming (Fun on the Farm) and weekday support! As a DSP, you'll coordinate engaging Saturday activities twice a month and provide consistent, compassionate support during the week. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate Saturday programming activities designed to promote social skills, independence, and fun for individuals with disabilities.
- Provide direct support during weekday hours, assisting with daily living activities (ADLs), medication administration, and behavioral management strategies.
- Support individuals with communication needs by utilizing communication tools.
- Assist with transportation needs by safely driving clients to and from home, community outings, or recreational activities.
- Collect and document data related to individual progress, behavior patterns, and activity participation to inform care plans.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and team members to ensure personalized care plans are followed effectively.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health guidelines, supporting medication administration protocols, and implementing behavior management techniques.
- Help with other duties as assigned by the Director.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or behavioral health challenges.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to create and plan activities for two special "fun on the farm" Saturdays/month.
- Ability to assist with ADLs such as assisting in the restroom and feeding.
- School and community care experience that demonstrates adaptability in various settings.
- Valid driving license with a clean record for safe transportation duties; willingness to drive as needed.
- Compassionate caregiving approach combined with patience and positive reinforcement techniques.
