Marina Operations Manager
Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Salary: $50,000-60,000 DOE

This position will handle overall operations and is responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control, and safety measures as established and set by senior management and ownership. The marina operations manager will ensure safe and efficient operations and serve as a company representative on regulatory issues. In addition, they will be responsible for the maintenance and training of all operational procedures, systems, and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting; as well as, look for opportunities to expand systems. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company's policies and applicable laws.
The operations manager duties and responsibilities includes interviewing, selection, and hiring; training new and existing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; scheduling; authoring and discussing with employees performance appraisals; addressing employee performance and corrective action plans; employee motivation and rewards.
Operations Manager will cover the duties as a reservationist as needed. This position would be responsible for being the liaison between dock leasing, accounting, and operations. This
role is critical to maintaining accurate financial records at the properties. The Marina
Operations Manager provides oversight of slip leasing agreements, accounting process, and ensures
that financial records are created and maintained in accordance with company policies and
procedures and monitors compliance of all Corporate Policies and Procedures.
The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the marina store and fuel docks to included oversight of supplies and merchandise orders, bringing new product in to the store, driving sales through effective visual merchandising, and inventory control, and creating and maintaining an culture focused around excellent customer service, building relationships with our guests and maintaining a respectful work environment.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline employees
- Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions
- Plan and review compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures
- Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends
- Develop operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; develop, implement, enforce, and evaluate policies and procedures; develop processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping
- Analyze and improve organizational process and workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layout; implement changes
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
- Accomplish operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed
- Manage staff levels, wages, hours, contract labor to budget.
- Run a safe, injury/accident-free workplace
- Responsible for all aspects of vehicle and heavy equipment rentals
- Manage relationships with key operations vendors
- Track vendor pricing, rebates, and service levels
- Serve as primary point of contact when there are customer issues related to equipment quality, customer service, or accidents and mishaps on-site. In particular, this includes any issues on-site at client facilities, such as breaking a fence or tape residue on flooring
- Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints
- Work closely with GM and management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation.
- Ensure Development of Safety Procedures and Protocols across Marina.
- Preventative Maintenance Walks-Downs; Scheduling of all Vendor/Contractor Repairs
- Scheduling of all Facility Inspections with City/State
- Provide updated Sales Reports for Gates, Slips, Rentals and Sales
- Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings
- Work closely with the GM and team to perform analysis of our inventory and ensure we are utilizing our inventory effectively, purchasing the right equipment, maintaining solid inventory data, and reduce sub-rental expenses
- Communicate with legal counsel and safety department to ensure all processes remain compliant with OSHA health and safety regulations and other governmental regulations.
- Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the manager.

Experience:
- Proven experience in delivering an outstanding customer experience

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- MS Office proficient and an understanding of internet-based applications
- QuickBooks experience a plus, but not required
- Understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting
- Driver’s license
- Proficient swimmer; CPR/First Aid Certified
- Boating experience is required. Must be able to assist boats with mooring and securing boats to the docks. Good understanding of launch ramp etiquette. Ability to drive vehicles with a trailer and be able back trailers into the water and parking spots.
