We’re looking for an Associate Actuary to join the team based in Indianapolis. This is a mid-level actuary position that requires the candidate to have a minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a health actuarial health actuarial role and is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA). This role will support the consulting practice and involves actuarial and data analysis, project management, as well as internal and external stakeholder communication. This position offers development opportunities for a professional looking to grow in the healthcare industry, learn from highly experienced leaders, and work with innovative healthcare start-ups and accelerate their career.
What You Will Do
Havarti Risk is a rapidly growing company and the Associate Actuary will have the opportunity to work on a variety of engagements and projects across the consulting practice.
- Reviewing and analyzing client data to extract required information
- Building financial / Return on Investment (ROI) models
- Conducting technical and consulting reviews of financial / ROI models built by others in the team
- Providing actuarial support to health plan customers in a variety of areas
- Developing presentations and reports
- Supporting project management to ensure quality client outcomes are delivered timely and within budget
Skills and Requirements
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant major
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)
- Minimum 4-6 years in a Health Actuarial role
Skills and qualifications
- Knowledge of the healthcare industry
- Knowledge of actuarial principles and processes
- Experience in Medicare Advantage actuarial support
- Proficiency in the use of Excel and statistical programming languages (e.g., Python, R)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Willing to travel occasionally as necessary
- Flexibility and adaptability to excel in a fast-changing environment
- Based in the Indianapolis, Indiana headquarters
