Duties
- Welcome guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements to ensure a comfortable dining experience.
- Manage restaurant reservations efficiently using reservation management systems. Experience with Toast POS preferred.
- Answer phone calls with professionalism, providing information about wait times and reservation details while practicing excellent phone etiquette.
- Maintain organization of the waiting list and communicate effectively with guests about their status.
- Support the front-of-house team by coordinating table assignments and managing guest flow during busy hours.
- Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of the host stand area, adhering to food safety standards.
- Assist with guest inquiries, special requests, and provide exceptional guest services to foster positive relations.
Skills
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on friendly customer interaction.
- Knowledge of restaurant reservation management systems such as Open Table is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods.
- Basic math skills for managing reservations and seating calculations accurately.
- Familiarity with POS systems and restaurant table management tools.
- A hospitable attitude with a focus on guest relations, hospitality, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
