Position Summary
The Operator is responsible for preparing, processing, and finishing parts through the chrome plating process while ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and production requirements. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow technical instructions, and safe operation of equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Process Execution
· Prepare parts for plating including masking, cleaning, and fixturing
· Operate plating equipment and support systems in accordance with established procedures
· Monitor process parameters and ensure adherence to specifications
· Meet daily production targets and throughput expectations
Quality Assurance
· Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
· Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, tape measures) to verify product specifications
· Inspect parts before, during, and after processing to ensure quality standards are met
· Identify and report defects or nonconforming materials
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
· Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, rectifiers, and power tools
· Perform routine equipment checks and basic preventative maintenance
· Maintain a clean and organized work area
Safety & Compliance
· Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
· Work safely in an environment with exposure to chemicals, heat, and varying temperatures
· Comply with all company policies and OSHA/environmental regulations
Minimum Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED
· Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing or industrial experience
· Basic math and measurement skills
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in plating, metal finishing, or similar industrial processes
· Experience operating overhead cranes or forklifts (certification a plus)
· Blueprint reading experience
· Experience working in a quality-driven manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
· Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 80% of the shift
· Ability to perform repetitive tasks with hands and arms
· Ability to work in environments with heat, cold, and chemical exposure
· Must be able to wear required PPE, which may include gloves, face shields, and respirators
