Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and repairing imperfections to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, stains, primers, sealers, and specialty coatings using hand tools and power tools such as airless sprayers and brushes.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute painting plans on various surfaces.
- Perform construction site tasks including framing, trim carpentry, masonry work, stucco application, and fixture installation as needed.
- Execute renovation projects by restoring or updating existing structures with precision in residential or commercial settings.
- Use construction estimating skills to assess project scope and materials needed for timely completion.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and properly handling tools like welding equipment and scaffolding.
Skills
- Extensive experience with residential and commercial painting techniques including industrial painting applications.
- Proficiency with hand tools (brushes, rollers), power tools (airless sprayers, drills), and specialized equipment such as scaffolding or welding gear.
- Strong knowledge of color theory for selecting appropriate finishes and matching palettes effectively.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately for precise project execution.
- Skilled in surface preparation methods such as plastering, caulking, masonry work, stucco application, and concrete finishing.
- Familiarity with renovation processes including remodeling, restoration projects, fixture installation, and maintenance tasks.
- Basic math skills for measurements and estimating material quantities efficiently.
- Experience with schematics interpretation related to industrial or construction site projects.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to construction painting sites including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
