What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Manager- Manufacturing position at Hathaway Partners?
We are looking for an experienced, detail-driven professional to lead daily quality operations within a precision manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for managing inspection processes, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100D standards, and supporting continuous improvement across production. The position includes supervising a small quality team, performing inspections when needed, tracking quality performance, and driving initiatives to strengthen product and process consistency. After 90 days of demonstrated success, the role will be reviewed for potential advancement into a management position.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise and mentor a small team within the quality department.
- Assign, monitor, and review quality-related tasks to align with production schedules and customer requirements.
- Provide training and coaching to strengthen inspection and technical skills.
- Support hands-on inspection activities as needed based on production priorities.
Quality Control & Assurance
- Conduct in-process, first article, and final inspections using precision measurement tools (CMM, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.).
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and customer quality requirements.
- Document and communicate inspection results following internal procedures.
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve nonconformance issues and implement effective corrective actions.
