ABOUT THE ROLE
The Sales Representative is a hybrid inside/outside sales role responsible for generating new revenue through inbound lead follow-up, structured outbound outreach, and scheduled field-based property evaluations. This is a hands-on, activity-driven position that requires consistent daily follow-up, timely customer response, and accurate CRM documentation.
This is neither a pure door-to-door role nor a sit-behind-a-desk call center position. Success in this role depends on strong organization, disciplined execution of assigned leads, and the ability to manage opportunities from initial contact through close while operating within established company sales processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Client Prospecting:
- Identify and target potential residential and commercial clients within the designated territory.
- Utilize various methods to generate leads, including networking, cold calling, and attending community events.
- Respond promptly to inbound leads from phone calls, web inquiries, and referrals
- Sales Presentations:
- Conduct in-home or on-site consultations to assess client needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Present and explain the benefits of our weed control and fertilization services, ensuring clients understand the value of our offerings.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to foster repeat business and referrals.
- Follow up with clients after service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
- Sales Pipeline Management:
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline status in the CRM system.
- Track and report on sales metrics to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Follow up consistently on unsold estimates until closed or disqualified
- Re-engage past estimates and dormant leads
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop promotional materials and campaigns that resonate with target audiences.
- Industry Knowledge:
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor offerings, and best practices in weed control and fertilization.
- Continuously educate yourself on the products and services we offer to provide knowledgeable recommendations.
ABOUT YOU
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in business, marketing, horticulture, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience:
- Proven sales experience, preferably in the lawn care, landscaping, or pest control industries.
- Strong understanding of weed control and fertilization practices is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a strong desire to succeed in a sales environment.
- Strong follow-up habits and time management skills
- Comfortable selling both over the phone and in person
- Proficient in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
