We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Manager to lead and oversee operations at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring production efficiency, quality control, and the achievement of company goals. This is a search for a key leadership position within our company.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to plant staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring that production schedules, quality standards, and cost targets are met.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Share a trusting relationship with the workgroup and recruit, manage, and develop plant staff.
  • Influence and learn from below.

Production and Quality Control:

  • Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customer expectations.
  • Increase production, asset capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality, and on-time shipping.
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives, providing a clear sense of direction and focus.
  • Monitor operations, key performance indicators (KPIs), and trigger corrective actions.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and implement quality control processes to maintain product excellence.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify areas of waste or overtime.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the plant budget, ensuring cost control and financial performance.
  • Analyze financial reports and data to make informed business decisions and drive profitability.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety regulations and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Commit to plant safety procedures.

Human Resources and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop plant staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Manage staffing levels, recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Encourage employee engagement and retention through effective communication and recognition programs.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity, standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
  • Drive innovation and process improvements to achieve operational excellence and competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance overall plant performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest production management best practices and concepts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a plant management role.
  • Proven work experience as a plant manager.
  • Proven managerial experience.
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources).
  • Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and technical expertise.
  • Knowledgeable in safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes.
  • Excellent financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial performance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to create accountability and lead by example.
  • Strong team-building, decision-making, and people management skills.
