Position: High School Secretary

Work Schedule: School Calendar Plus 10 Days
Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Rate of Pay: $21.34 hourly beginning

Position Summary:
Hastings Area School System is seeking a dedicated and organized high school secretary to join our team. This individual will provide essential administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations and an organized environment for students, staff, and families. The position requires effective communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a range of office responsibilities.
- Assist students, staff, and parents with inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
- Manage daily office functions, including phone calls, emails, and scheduling.
- Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and other confidential information.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and school-related communications.
- Support school administration with scheduling, filing, and other clerical tasks.
- Coordinate with various departments to facilitate school events and activities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional clerical/administrative training is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite, including gmail, spreadsheets, Google Forms
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a school office setting is preferred
Work Schedule:
This position follows the school calendar plus 10 additional days, allowing time to prepare for the upcoming school year and wrap up end-of-year duties.
