Automotive Service Assistant
Full-time position; Monday – Thursday, 9:30am to 6:00pm, & Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. Some Saturdays will be required per department needs.
We are seeking an Automotive Service Advisor Assistant to become a part of our Hastings Automotive (Hastings Ford) team!
Position Purpose:
To support the Service Department delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring smooth workflow, and maintaining accurate records. This role bridges communication between customers, technicians, and the service team, helping to create a positive and efficient service experience.
Core Responsibilities and Duties:
- Greet customers warmly and assist with initial service inquiries.
- Gather and document customer concerns, vehicle details, and service requests.
- Support service advisors in preparing repair orders, estimates, and work schedules.
- Communicate updates to customers regarding service progress and completion times.
- Verify warranty or service contract coverage when applicable.
- Maintain organized customer and vehicle service records.
- Assist with ordering parts, returns, and inventory coordination.
- Ensure the service area is clean, professional, and welcoming.
- Handle follow-up calls to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Manage rental fleet of vehicles
- Regular interaction with customers, technicians, and vendors
Compensation & Benefits:
The hourly wage for this opportunity is $18.00/hour to $22.00/hour. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience, education, and certification & licensure. Hourly pay is just one part of the compensation package for employees. Qualifications:
Required:
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred:
- 1 year experience in sales, customer service, or other related field
- Dealership or automotive parts experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and planning
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Must be able to multi-task and stay focused in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Team collaboration skills
- Computer proficiency and knowledge of service management software
- Knowledge of automotive parts
- Professionalism
- Occasional lifting of light automotive parts
