Automotive Lube Technician

Full-time position to work 5 days per week. Business hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 7:00am to 6:00pm & Saturday, 7:00am – 3:00pm.

We are seeking Automotive Lube technicians to become a part of our Hastings Automotive (Hastings Ford) team!

Core Responsibilities and Duties:

• Vehicle Maintenance – performing oil changes, replacing filters (oil, air, cabin), tire rotations, checking and topping off fluids
• Fluid Services – draining engine oil, changing oil filters, greasing fittings, and checking/filling fluids according to manufacture recommendations
• Inspections – conduct thorough vehicle inspections, including checking for oil leaks, tire pressure, and overall vehicle condition
• Minor Repairs – replacing wiper blades or batteries, and diagnosing potential issues
• Safety and Cleanliness - maintain a safe and clean work environment adhering to company policies
• Customer Service – explain services and addressing customer's needs, questions, and concerns
• Inventory Management – maintain inventory of necessary parts and supplies
• Maintain accurate records of services performed and any recommendations for additional work

Compensation & Benefits:

The hourly wage for this opportunity is $19.00/hour to $22.00/hour. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience, education, and certification & licensure. Hourly pay is just one part of the compensation package for employees. Qualifications:

Required:

• Valid driver’s license

Preferred:

• Previous experience working at a dealership, independent and/or tire shop, chain store, muffler/brake shop, Theisen's or Walmart as a Lube Technician.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Ability to complete job assignments with high quality in timely manner
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to read and follow complex directions in manuals as well as relay information in reports
• Working knowledge of automotive service procedures and mechanic tools
• Physical ability to perform tasks related to the position such as bending, reaching, standing for long periods of time, and heavy lifting as needed.
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Strong mechanical aptitude to diagnose issues accurately
• Effective communication & team collaboration skills
• Understanding safety awareness & protocols to ensure industry and company standards are met
