What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds I /Maintenance position at Hastings Area School System?
Classification: Grounds I / Maintenance
Location: District Wide
Starting date: TBD
Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
Rate of pay: $21.92 / hour for a beginning employee
Specific Assignment:
Maintain athletic fields, fieldhouse, and concession stands- Maintaining grounds surrounding the school buildings such as trimming of shrubs, mowing grass, snow removal, and other outside work including building and equipment maintenance as directed by the Supervisor
- Work under the guidance and direction of the Supervisor
- Follow established sports field mowing schedule and parameters during the mowing season
- Complete FMX work orders assigned by the Supervisor
- Work in relationship to outsourced grass and turf contractors
- Understand and maintain irrigation systems
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
- Perform specific event tasks after hours and during weekends
Minimum requirements:
Must possess or are willing to possess the knowledge required to lay out and correctly marking of all athletic areas required in the education program- Must be able to fulfill the duties of the Grounds I position
- Must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license
- Must have good public relations and interpersonal skills
- This candidate should also have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- May be required to complete further schooling and/or training as needs change
