Job Title: HVAC Install Helper
Position Summary
The HVAC Install Helper supports the installation team in setting up heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential or commercial buildings. This role assists the Lead Installer with preparing materials, assembling components, handling tools, transporting equipment, and ensuring the job site remains safe and organized. The ideal candidate is dependable, eager to learn, and capable of working in a physically demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities
Installation Support
- Assist with installing HVAC equipment such as furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, and ventilation systems.
- Help measure, cut, and assemble ductwork, piping, and components.
- Support the Lead Installer in setting and securing equipment.
- Carry tools, materials, and equipment to and from the job site.
- Perform basic tasks like drilling, fastening, insulation, and sealing under supervision.
Job Site Duties
- Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout the installation process.
- Load and unload materials and equipment from vehicles.
- Follow directions from the Lead Installer or Project Manager.
- Assist with system start-up and testing as needed.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA standards.
- Use proper PPE and safe tool-handling practices.
- Report any hazards, issues, or damaged equipment immediately.
Customer Service & Representation
- Interact with customers professionally and respectfully.
- Uphold the company's reputation through courteous behavior and clean job practices.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work in confined spaces, attics, rooftops, and crawlspaces.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (if required by employer).
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools.
Preferred
- Prior experience in HVAC, construction, or a skilled trade.
- EPA Section 608 Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- HVAC trade school coursework.
