Experienced Veterinary Assistant/Technician

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant/Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care, is a team player and possess the necessary skills to assist in providing high-quality veterinary services within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician or equivalent education/training
- Proficient in handling dogs and cats
- Experience with laboratory procedures, including sample collection and analysis
- Knowledge of animal catheterization techniques and administration of fluids
- Familiarity with kennel management and pet care

Duties:

- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and wound care
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and treatments
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Perform digital radiography of animals as needed
- Perform dental radiography and dental cleanings under the supervision of veterinarians
- Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery of animals
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment

- Excellent problem-solving skills to address unexpected situations or emergencies
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
