Job Description:
We are seeking a flexible and reliable classroom floater to join our team! The classroom floater will be responsible for providing support to various classrooms throughout the day, filling in for absent teachers, and ensuring that all classrooms are well-staffed and running smoothly. The floater will work with children of various ages, from infants to school-aged children, providing a range of support as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to classrooms throughout the day, filling in for absent teachers and assisting with a variety of tasks as needed.
- Ensure that all classrooms are well-staffed and running smoothly, with adequate teacher-to-child ratios and appropriate supervision.
- Follow all policies and procedures related to health and safety, including sanitation, hygiene, and emergency procedures.
- Engage with children in a positive and supportive manner, fostering their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and lessons, as directed by lead teachers.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with lead teachers, directors, and other staff members, ensuring that all relevant information is shared in a timely manner.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation, including attendance records, incident reports, and other forms as needed.
- Ensure the classroom and facility are clean, organized, and secure at the end of the day.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with some college coursework in early childhood education or a related field preferred.
- At least 1-2 years of experience working in a licensed childcare facility, with experience working with children of various ages.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a variety of classrooms and with a range of ages and needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of early childhood development, with the ability to plan and implement age-appropriate activities and lessons.
- Familiarity with state licensing requirements for early childhood education programs.
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
