What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney position at Haslam Law Firm LLC?
Did you go to law school to try cases or sit in an office all day? Are you a newer attorney with a passion for helping clients who also wants to gain immediate courtroom experience? We are seeking an associate attorney with a strong desire to try cases to join our growing law firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent legal writing and communication skills, and a desire to provide exceptional client service. The successful applicant will be expected to attend the Gerry Spence Method within the first two years of employment, as well as other national trainings to improve trial skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a mixed caseload of personal injury and criminal defense cases from start to finish, including conducting legal research, drafting pleadings and discovery, and representing clients in court.
- Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on case status and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
- Work collaboratively with other attorneys and staff members to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.
- Attend court hearings, depositions, other legal proceedings, and trials as necessary.
Requirements:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Must be a licensed member in good standing with the West Virginia State Bar. Bonus points if you are already licensed in Ohio or Kentucky.
- 2-5 years of experience practicing law, including trial experience.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude and a strong commitment to client service.
