We are seeking a Buyer for a leading manufacturing company in Littleton, MA. In this critical Supply Chain role, you will be responsible for procuring components, materials, and services essential to the design and production of complex electromechanical systems.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 4–6 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management within a medical device or other regulated manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (Salesforce, Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, etc.)
- Familiarity with low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing
- Strong negotiation, sourcing, and supplier relationship skills
Key Responsibilities
- Source, quote, negotiate, and issue POs for diverse commodities, including machined parts, wire harnesses, PCBs, subassemblies, and specialized services
- Ensure all materials and services comply with relevant regulatory and quality standards (FDA, ISO 13485)
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships—conduct audits, reviews, and improvement initiatives
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers
- Collaborate with Engineering & Production teams on prototype builds, ECOs, and part obsolescence
- Perform cost analysis and support make/buy decisions
- Track and report supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost, responsiveness)
- Expedite critical materials to support production schedules
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions
- Maintain accurate purchasing records per internal quality and regulatory systems
- Prepare procurement reports, cost savings summaries, and performance metrics
- Participate in internal and external audits
