Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our team and drive our mission forward through compelling grant proposals and strategic funding efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for researching funding opportunities, developing persuasive proposals, and managing the entire grant submission process. Duties

• Conduct comprehensive research on grant funding opportunities across government agencies, foundations, and nonprofit organizations to identify potential sources aligned with organizational goals.
• Develop clear, persuasive grant proposals and supporting documents that effectively communicate project needs, objectives, and expected outcomes.
• Manage the entire grant lifecycle from initial research through submission, including budgeting, technical writing, editing, proofreading, and compliance checks.
• Maintain accurate records of grant applications, deadlines, correspondence, and outcomes using databases such as Raiser's Edge or similar systems for efficient tracking.
• Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for proposal content development and ensure alignment with organizational strategies.
• Oversee contract management processes related to grants, ensuring adherence to funder requirements and organizational policies.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and program development documentation required for grant reporting and accountability purposes.
• Support fundraising efforts by developing compelling grant case statements that highlight organizational impact and community value.
• Assist in strategic planning initiatives related to grant funding opportunities and resource allocation to maximize organizational growth.
• Ensure all grant submissions meet deadlines and comply with funder guidelines while maintaining high standards of content editing and technical accuracy.

Experience

• Proven experience in grant proposal writing within nonprofit or community organization settings, with a strong track record of securing funding from government agencies and foundations.
• Extensive knowledge of contracts management, database management systems such as Raiser's Edge or equivalent platforms, and grant management software tools.
• Demonstrated ability in research related to grant funding opportunities and developing comprehensive grant cases that resonate with funders.
• Strong background in nonprofit foundation experience combined with community organization involvement is highly desirable.
• Excellent writing skills with a focus on persuasive writing, technical writing, content editing, proofreading, and financial report writing.
• Skilled in project management with the ability to handle multiple deadlines efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Familiarity with budgeting processes related to grants and program development initiatives is essential.
• Prior experience working within fundraising environments that involve government agencies or large-scale nonprofit programs will be considered an asset.
