What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Demand Planner position at Harvey Performance Company?
WHO WE ARE:
At Harvey Performance Company, we're more than a team; we're a community. Our thriving, dynamic, and rapidly expanding organization values community, celebrates success, and fosters personal and professional growth opportunities.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Senior Demand Planner owns the finished goods demand forecast at Harvey Performance Company. This is a newly created role with a clear mandate: build a real demand planning function where one doesn't yet exist, and serve as the primary demand signal for purchasing and production planning across the business. The role sits within a small planning team and partners closely with Sales, Finance, and Operations. Rowley, MA preferred with one day per week onsite. Remote across New England considered.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Build and own the finished goods demand forecast using historical shipment data, statistical models, sales input, customer signals, and seasonality assumptions.
- Set the methodology for forecast accuracy and bias measurement, then run root-cause analysis when the numbers slip.
- Publish the item-level demand plan that production planning and purchasing consume as their primary signal.
- Document and communicate demand assumptions, risks, and areas of uncertainty so stakeholders know where the forecast is solid and where it isn't.
- Partner with Sales to incorporate customer intelligence, promotions, and pipeline visibility into the forecast.
- Work with Production Planning and Purchasing to ensure the demand signal is understood and consumed correctly.
- Contribute to the rollout of a new demand planning system, including the demand module configuration and adoption across brands.
- Own demand planning KPIs (forecast accuracy, bias, demand volatility) in partnership with the Planning Analytics Lead.
YOU'LL BRING:
- 5 years of hands-on demand planning or forecasting experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Item-level forecasting experience at meaningful scale (75,000 SKUs preferred).
- Working knowledge of statistical forecasting methods and how to choose between them based on demand patterns.
- Advanced Excel and comfort working in data-heavy planning environments.
- ERP experience (Epicor Prophet 21, SAP, or Global Shop preferred, but any ERP works).
NICE TO HAVE:
- Hands-on experience with a modern demand planning system (Kinaxis, o9, Logility, Blue Yonder, OMP, SAP IBP, RELEX, ToolsGroup, or similar).
- SQL fluency for partnering directly with analytics resources.
- Experience standing up a demand planning function or transforming one that wasn't working.
- Multi-brand or multi-entity forecasting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Statistics, Analytics, Engineering, or Finance.
WHERE YOU'LL WORK:
Find yourself in the heart of Rowley, MA, where our modern facility resides. Experience the balance between vibrant professional growth at Harvey and the soothing, scenic lifestyle of this quaint North Shore town. We champion work-life harmony and invite you to be part of our journey.
