Job Summary
We are seeking a highly capable and skilled individual to fill the position of Operations Analyst. This role involves a combination of responsibilities focused on Carbon Capture Storage (CCS) operations, operator training, data analysis, and supporting overall plant operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in operations, data analysis, and a high level of proficiency in mathematics.
Key Responsibilities and Functions
Data Analysis:
Utilize advanced data analysis techniques to identify trends, optimize plant performance, and support decision-making processes.
Analyze trial data, conduct plant benchmarking, and provide actionable insights to improve operational efficiency.
Plant Optimization:
Collaborate with the team to identify areas for improvement in plant operations, implement optimization strategies, and monitor performance metrics.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist in the installation and integration of a new data package across all three plants.
Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of data analysis capabilities, leveraging expertise in mathematics and data analytics.
Regularly assess plant performance, identify gaps, and propose corrective actions.
Develop and implement performance evaluation methodologies to track and measure the success of plant optimization initiatives.
Operator Training:
- Develop and deliver training programs to equip operators with the necessary skills and knowledge for efficient and effective plant operations.
- Includes creating training materials, conducting training sessions, and providing ongoing support and guidance
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in energy management, mathematics, business administration or a related field and a minimum of three years of progressive experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in data analysis and plant optimization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated proficiency in using data analysis tools and software
Required Key Skills & Competencies
In-depth knowledge of the ethanol production process and technology
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of ethanol plant operations, along with a high level of proficiency in data analysis techniques and tools. Familiarity with data packages and their implementation is an advantage.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify patterns, and draw meaningful insights. Strong mathematical and statistical skills are essential for this role.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical information to diverse stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to think critically and develop innovative solutions to operational challenges
- Skills with MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Sharepoint and Teams
- Must have the ability to learn and work effectively with the plants' Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
