The Risk & Compliance Analyst is responsible for monitoring and reporting on compliance within the commodity risk policy and other relevant policies and procedures. This includes administration of all financial derivative accounts, platforms and internal systems as well as reporting and analysis of commodity risk. Additionally, the role will be responsible for maintaining reference data in the system(s) of record, reconciling counterparty trade confirmations, and providing transactional support for low carbon compliance programs.
Key Responsibilities, Performance & Incentives
Risk Functions & Responsibilities
· Daily review and reconciliation of all derivative trades and coordination of P&S activity
· Manage risk related reference data entry in trade system of record
· Analyze and distribute daily and weekly position and mark to market reports
· Ensure compliance with internal risk policies and report any violations
· Serve as main point of contact to commercial team for all risk inquiries
· Produce month end derivative files for use by CFO
· Provide weekly borrowing base reports to CFO
· Support data collection and verification for bank financing and annual financial statement audits
Compliance Functions & Responsibilities
· Daily review, distribution and reconciliation of all commodity contracts and broker confirms
· Manage reference data entry in trade and finance systems of record
· Support audit and transactional data reconciliation related to RINs and LCFS credits
· Support resolution of customer discrepancies for RIN and LCFS transactions
· Data verification and process review on an ad hoc basis
Education/Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business or related fields or equivalent work experience
· Prior experience in energy, agriculture or compliance credit markets preferred
Skills/Proficiencies
· Proficiency in Microsoft office suite, specifically Excel
· Experience with RightAngle, preferred, but not required
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Self directed and able to prioritize amongst multiple tasks
