Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator/Selector to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate the movement of goods within our distribution center. This role is essential for maintaining productivity and ensuring that shipments are processed accurately and on time. Hours begin at 2am and go until finished, typically around 9-9:30am on average. Occasional Saturday shifts available for pick up.
Duties
- Operate STANDING forklifts and ride-along pallet jacks to load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Assist in shipping and receiving operations, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are accurate and properly documented.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety and compliance with operational standards.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and address any operational challenges.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed, including inventory management and order fulfillment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation.
- Familiarity with shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes.
- Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor is a plus but not required.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, English required, and ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
- Must know Stand-up forklift and ride along pallet jack.
