Substitute Teacher/Para

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Substitue/Para School Teacher to foster a positive learning environment for young students. Smaller classroom sizes of 12-15 students. The ideal candidate will possess strong classroom management skills and a genuine commitment to child development. This role involves implementing lessons, supporting diverse learners, and collaborating with colleagues to promote academic excellence and social-emotional growth. Experience working with children in various educational settings, including special education and early childhood education, is highly valued.

Duties

• Utilize learning technology and educational resources to enhance student engagement and understanding.
• Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques.
• Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and informal observations; adjust instruction accordingly.
• Provide tutoring and individualized support to students needing extra assistance, including those with autism or other special needs.
• Incorporate teaching physical education and promoting healthy activities as part of the overall curriculum.
• Mentor students by fostering a supportive environment that encourages social skills, confidence, and independence.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school events, and administrative tasks related to education administration.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral incidents.
• Engage with parents and guardians through communication skills to discuss student progress and address concerns.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Education or a related field; additional certification or licensure required for elementary teaching-or teaching experience.
• Proven classroom experience with elementary-aged children; experience working with students with special needs or in private school settings is a plus.
• Strong skills in lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and classroom management.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention strategies, and Montessori or other specialized teaching methods preferred.
• Familiarity with learning technology tools, standardized testing procedures, and library services relevant to elementary education.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, staff, and administration.
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners including children with autism or behavioral challenges.
• Experience in curriculum development, tutoring, writing skills for educational content creation, and proof-reading is advantageous.
