Job Overview

Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in subjects such as literacy education, math, and science.
- Utilize learning technology and educational resources to enhance student engagement and understanding.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and informal observations; adjust instruction accordingly.
- Provide tutoring and individualized support to students needing extra assistance, including those with autism or other special needs.
- Incorporate teaching physical education and promoting healthy activities as part of the overall curriculum.
- Mentor students by fostering a supportive environment that encourages social skills, confidence, and independence.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school events, and administrative tasks related to education administration.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral incidents.
- Engage with parents and guardians through communication skills to discuss student progress and address concerns.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Education or a related field; additional certification or licensure required for elementary teaching.
- Proven classroom experience with elementary-aged children; experience working with students with special needs or in private school settings is a plus.
- Strong skills in lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and classroom management.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention strategies, and Montessori or other specialized teaching methods preferred.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools, standardized testing procedures, and library services relevant to elementary education.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, staff, and administration.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners including children with autism or behavioral challenges.
- Experience in curriculum development, tutoring, writing skills for educational content creation, and proof-reading is advantageous.
