💰 Salary Range: $135,000 – $150,000 per year (DOE)
Harvest Landscape is seeking an experienced Director of Fleet Operations to lead and optimize our growing fleet of 400 vehicles and equipment. This position provides strategic direction, operational oversight, and hands-on leadership to ensure our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. The Director will oversee Fleet Managers, mechanics, and administrative staff while collaborating closely with executive leadership to align fleet strategies with company goals.
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Develop and execute long-term strategies for fleet growth, optimization, and modernization.
- Set annual goals and KPIs for the Fleet Department aligned with company objectives.
- Mentor and lead Fleet Managers to achieve operational excellence.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies, sustainability initiatives, and telematics systems.
Fleet Operations Oversight
- Oversee acquisition, maintenance, and lifecycle management of 400 vehicles and equipment.
- Establish standardized procedures for maintenance, safety, and compliance.
- Monitor utilization, downtime, and performance metrics to drive data-based decisions.
- Ensure full compliance with DOT, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
Financial & Vendor Management
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditures.
- Negotiate large-scale contracts for procurement, fuel, maintenance, and insurance.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining reliability.
People & Performance Management
- Lead, develop, and evaluate Fleet Managers, mechanics, and administrative personnel.
- Build a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Implement training programs to enhance technical and leadership skills.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Oversee compliance audits and reporting for fleet operations.
- Manage risk through strong safety policies and proactive mitigation.
- Serve as primary contact for regulatory agencies and insurance providers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7 years of progressive fleet, logistics, or transportation management experience, including 3 years in leadership.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets.
- Advanced knowledge of fleet management systems, telematics, and data analytics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- ASE certification or equivalent technical background a plus.
- Primarily office-based with regular field and maintenance site visits.
- Must be able to inspect vehicles and equipment as needed.
- Occasional travel required for vendors, training, or operational oversight.
Salary : $135,000 - $150,000
