About the Role
This role is ideal for a researcher who has mastered project logistics and is now looking to expand their skills in leading conversations and projects. You’ll moderate focus groups, interviews, and ethnographic sessions (with guidance and training available), and translate those experiences into clear, strategic recommendations for our clients.
You’ll also play a critical role in project delivery; balancing the details of logistics with the bigger picture of delivering insight-rich outcomes. Our senior team will provide strong guidance and mentorship as you grow.
This role is hybrid (Chicago in-person, remote, domestic travel required for moderation).
What You’ll Do
- Manage qualitative projects end-to-end, from setup and recruitment through moderation and reporting (with guidance from senior team members).
- Conduct in-depth interviews, focus groups, ethnographies, and shopalongs (in-person and online).
- Turn findings into compelling narratives that inspire action.
- Build strong client relationships, contributing to presentations and discussions with confidence.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, marketing, communication, or related field.
- 2–6 years of experience in qualitative research, ideally with exposure to CPG and/or retail.
- Hands-on experience with qualitative methodologies (IDIs, focus groups, usability/concept testing, shopalongs and ethnographies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and strong visual communication skills to convey consumer narratives.
- Proven ability to manage research logistics and deliver on project details.
- Clear communicator with strong writing and presentation skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple projects.
- Willingness to travel for in-person fieldwork.

- An interest or working knowledge of quantitative methodologies
- Exposure to business development or account growth.
