We are seeking reliable and compassionate Childcare Workers to provide supervision and care for children while parents attend monthly life-skills classes in our Home Again supportive housing program.
Schedule
- 4th Tuesday of every month
- 6:15 PM – 7:45 PM
- Parent class runs from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Childcare workers are paid a flat rate of $100 per monthly class worked.
Position Summary
The Childcare Worker supervises and monitors the safety and well-being of children ages 6 months to 14 years during monthly programming. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment through age-appropriate activities and positive interaction with children.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor the safety of children at all times
- Organize activities and develop age-appropriate curriculum and learning experiences
- Provide a nurturing and supportive classroom environment that promotes healthy child development
- Assist children with hygiene needs, including diaper changes when necessary
- Monitor and encourage positive socialization between children
- Assist with transitions into and out of class
- Assimilate new children into the classroom and help them feel welcome
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures
- Clean and sanitize toys, supplies, and interactive areas at the end of the evening
- Communicate any behavioral concerns or incidents with parents and Harvest House staff
- Maintain communication with the Family Case Managers and Director of Family Services regarding classroom or supply needs
Qualifications
- Childcare Certification required
- CPR Certification required
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Ability to pass a background check
- Patient, attentive, and compassionate with children
- Strong communication skills with children, parents, and staff
- Ability to meet the physical demands of childcare work
- Minimum 1 year of childcare experience preferred
