Field Hockey Coach
Job Overview
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Field Hockey coaches for our JV and Freshmen teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coaching and/or playing field hockey, and will be responsible for developing players' skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive learning environment. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to educate and motivate students of various skill levels.
Duties
- Head positions will develop and implement player-centered training programs that enhance players' skills and game strategies. Assistants will aid in coaching and implementing practice plans.
- Coach and motivate JV and Freshmen players in Monday through Friday after school practices (typically 3:15-5:15pm) and home and away games. Practices focus on technical skills, teamwork, and game tactics.
- Assess individual player performance and provide constructive feedback to facilitate improvement.
- Create a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation and sportsmanship among all players.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to ensure a cohesive coaching strategy across all teams.
- Maintain equipment and ensure the safety of all participants during practices and games.
Qualifications
- Experience in coaching field hockey or related sports. Proficient in field hockey playing and a thorough understanding of the game.
- Experience working with high school students in a coaching or educational capacity is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of sports psychology and fitness training a plus.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with players, parents, and other staff. Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to give positive feedback and support. Ability to adapt. Great organizational, leadership, and motivational skills.
