A Day In The Life

The Security - Access Control officer is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and controlled access of assigned facilities. This role requires vigilance, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills to maintain a secure environment for employees, clients, visitors, and assets.

Shift: Mon, Tues, Wed, 4pm-12am Sat, Sun 8am-4pm

Salary: USD $16.00/Hr

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor while assisting employees, visitors, and guests.
• Monitor assigned building areas to deter suspicious or unsafe activities.
• Maintain a visible security presence in all assigned areas.
• Verify authorization and credentials for all personnel entering and exiting the premises.
• Greet and assist customers, tenants, and guests courteously.
• Answer telephones and respond to inquiries in a professional manner.
• Conduct foot or vehicle patrols of designated areas as assigned.
• Observe and document the movement of personnel and property to prevent unauthorized removal.
• Follow and enforce building policies and procedures.
• Respond to emergencies and follow established action plans.
• Monitor surveillance systems, alarms, and access control systems.
• Prepare detailed incident reports, accident documentation, and activity logs.
  
  

Knowledge And Skill Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a state-mandated security officer license.
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, or customer service is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to operate communication equipment and basic office technology.
• Must have reliable transportation and means of communication.
• Ability to maintain accurate logs and write clear incident reports.
