A day in the life:

The Field Supervisor's primary focus will be to service the existing business, operationally and financially, while maintaining relationships with existing customers and developing new business where possible.  This person will oversee janitorial operations across multiple buildings, ensuring high-quality cleaning standards, managing staff, and maintaining client satisfaction.

What you’ll do as an Exceptional Team Member

• Oversee and support a team of porters and matrons, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and service.
• Assign cleaning tasks and special projects based on operational needs.
• Conduct regular quality control inspections to ensure all work meets Harvard and client standards.
• Train new and current staff members in best cleaning practices and safety protocols.
• Ensure all team members use proper safety equipment and follow established safety procedures.
• Manage inventory by ordering and distributing cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Review and process work tickets for task completion and accountability.
• Perform routine maintenance and checks on general cleaning equipment.
• Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning operations to deliver exceptional results.

What you’ll need to be an Extraordinary Team Member

• Previous experience in the janitorial field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Supervisory or Lead role
• Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment
• Ability to train staff, conduct inspections, and ensure safety compliance
• Tech-savvy; able to use smartphones/tablets for scheduling and reporting
• Organized, reliable, and able to work flexible hours
