THE OPPORTUNITY: Senior Procurement Manager
The Senior Procurement Manager will establish and lead the strategic procurement function supporting the development and production of highly engineered products within a rapidly growing engineering organization. Working alongside Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Operations, and external suppliers, this individual will develop supplier strategies, build a scalable global supply base, and establish the procurement infrastructure necessary to support both current production and future product development initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to build procurement processes from the ground up while becoming a trusted business partner to Engineering and helping shape the organization's long-term supply chain strategy. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where supplier relationships, sourcing strategies, and procurement processes are being developed simultaneously.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Senior Procurement Manager
- Develop and execute procurement strategies supporting current production and future product development programs.
- Lead supplier sourcing, qualification, commercial negotiations, and long-term supplier relationship management.
- Partner closely with Engineering throughout new product introduction (NPI), prototype development, and evolving product designs.
- Identify, qualify, and develop domestic and international suppliers supporting highly engineered products.
- Develop sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, delivery, manufacturability, and technical performance.
- Build scalable procurement processes, supplier performance metrics, and commercial governance.
- Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies supporting aggressive development schedules.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Operations, and Quality to support program objectives and supplier performance.
- Improve procurement visibility through ERP systems, reporting, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS: Senior Procurement Manager
- You bring 7 years of progressive experience leading procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain initiatives within aerospace, industrial manufacturing, power generation, capital equipment, or other highly engineered manufacturing environments.
- You have successfully developed supplier strategies, negotiated commercial agreements, and qualified suppliers supporting complex engineered products.
- You have partnered closely with Engineering throughout new product introduction (NPI), prototype development, or rapidly evolving product development programs.
- You understand how to balance commercial objectives with technical requirements while influencing cross-functional teams and supplier decisions.
- You have experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems and procurement data to improve planning, supplier performance, and operational visibility.
- You thrive in fast-paced environments where you are building processes, supplier relationships, and procurement infrastructure rather than maintaining mature systems.
