What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academic Counselor (6-12 Grade) position at Harts Bluff Independent School District?
Primary Pupose:
Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive school counseling program at the assigned campus. Deliver holistic support to students in the areas of academic achievement, career readiness, and personal/social development to prepare them for post-secondary opportunities and long-term success. Offer individualized guidance on course selection, career exploration, and the post-secondary application process.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master’s degree in guidance counseling or school administration
Valid Texas counseling certificate or administrator’s certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of career development
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Ability to present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to students, parents, and district staff
