Our client is a specialist, international CRO supporting emerging biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies across Phase I–III clinical development. Following continued growth within its oncology portfolio, the organisation is looking to appoint a Vice President of Business Development to expand its presence across the United States.
This is a senior individual-contributor position responsible for developing new sponsor relationships and securing complex clinical research programmes. You will work closely with feasibility, medical, operations, proposals and executive leadership teams to create differentiated solutions for oncology sponsors.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a US business-development strategy focused on emerging and mid-sized biotechnology companies
- Build relationships with C-suite, clinical-development and outsourcing stakeholders
- Identify, qualify and progress Phase I–III clinical-development opportunities
- Lead proposal strategy, commercial negotiations and sponsor bid defences
- Maintain an accurate, qualified pipeline and deliver against annual awards targets
- Represent the organisation at relevant oncology and biotechnology conferences
- Support the development of strategic accounts and preferred-provider relationships
- Provide market intelligence on sponsor pipelines, funding, competitors and outsourcing trends
The successful candidate will have:
- Significant commercial experience within a CRO or clinical-research services organisation
- A strong track record of winning full-service oncology studies
- An established network across US biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies
- Experience navigating complex, lengthy sales cycles
- Strong knowledge of clinical development, proposals and bid-defence processes
- The credibility to engage senior scientific, clinical and commercial stakeholders
- A proactive, consultative approach to new-business development

Salary : $180,000 - $200,000
