Electrician

We require the skills of an Electrician/Maintenance Technician, with an electrical focus, to join our talented Maintenance team, who will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all the building and equipment as required.

JOB FUNCTION: Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and associated electronic and instrumentation controls. Ability to solve or troubleshoot mechanical problems will be an asset. Operate and monitor multifunction process control machinery and equipment to control the processing of paper and other cellulose materials in the production of pulp.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years industrial experience.
• Proof of formal training in specialty areas (i.e., Pneumatics, Hydraulics, mechanical, PLC’s, Instrumentation, etc.)
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
• Proficiency or ability to learn electrical code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
• Proficiency or ability to learn to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic.
• Proficiency or ability to learn to install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, fixtures and other electrical components.
  
  

General Responsibilities

• Install machinery and equipment according to electrical code and circuit drawing using hand and power tools;
• Perform all work with adherence to safety and housekeeping procedures
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Install industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools
• Adjust machinery to repair or replace defective parts
• Connect electrical power to communication equipment, signaling devices and heating and cooling systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
• Startup, shutdown, setup and adjust equipment as required
• Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
• Train or assist in training new workers
• Maintain and complete records in our CMMS System.

Pay: $29.650-$37.06 per hour
