What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Director position at Hartland Assisted Living?
Seeking a Medical Director to provide clinical oversight for our Specialty Care Assisted Living Facility (SCALF)serving residents with cognitive impairment and dementia. The Medical Director works collaboratively with the Administrator and nursing staff to ensure quality care, regulatory compliance, and appropriate medical policies.
This position is primarily oversight and consultation and does not require providing primary care to residents unless desired.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical oversight for the facility’s clinical policies and procedures
- Collaborate with the Administrator and RN regarding resident care practices
- Review and approve clinical protocols and standing orders when applicable
- Be available for consultation regarding resident care issues
- Assist in maintaining compliance with Alabama Department of Public Health regulations
- Participate in periodic quality assurance reviews
- Provide guidance related to infection control, medication management, and resident safety
- Attend occasional care or administrative meetings as needed
- Requirements
- Licensed Physician (MD or DO) in good standing in the State of Alabama

Competitive monthly stipend
- Current DEA license (preferred but not always required)
- Experience with geriatric, dementia, or long-term care populations preferred
- Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary staff

Pay: $120.00 - $140.00 per hour
