Paraprofessional for Alternative High School Classroom

Hartford High School is searching for an Alternative Classroom Paraprofessional to work in tandem with the staff within the Eye Classroom. This classroom is part of a multi-tiered system of support offering an engaging classroom setting for students whose academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs may be different than that of their peers. Specifically, the person in this position will support students within the alternative and general education classroom setting, as appropriate, on social emotional and executive functioning skill development, as well as in access to their academic learning. While the majority of the work will be with a small group of students, there will be opportunity for one-to-one support and intervention.

Ongoing training, supervision, and oversight will be provided by the Eye Team, HHS Administration, and Hartford School District Clinical Director.HSD is committed to a proactive, inclusive, relationship-based, and trauma-informed approach that contributes to and promotes a safe, healthy, socially and academically vibrant climate for all stakeholders where building positive relationships is the priority.
